With over twenty years of teaching experience, Jason has developed a sensitivity to the musical needs of students and a talent for customizing lesson plans to fit their individual interests.

Every musical journey is unique with its own process of discovery. While all musicians must do the work of building technique and developing a vocabulary, the ultimate “destination” is a personal sanctuary of self-expression. A great teacher is both an experienced coach and a guide capable of leading the student into the light of inspiration.

Jason Burbo has been teaching music in Washtenaw County since 1995, offering private lessons in guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, and music theory.

The benefits of playing music are well established by now. Children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies, more advanced reading skills, and score higher in mathematics. Music education supports better study habits and self-esteem. It is also a lot of fun!
